FiltDes - Design of Gas Filters
The FiltDes program was created for the design of a range of gas
filter types. Based on both operating experience and a series of
correlations, FiltDes will first help you select a filtration gas
velocity based on dust type. It then incorporates a series of
operating and design factors that adjust the base face velocity to
a corrected value. This is then used to calculate the required
filter medium area and the software generates filter configuration
suggestions based on the required duty.
FiltDes implements a design procedure for a range of gas filter
types published by Löffler et al in "Dust Collection with Bag
Filters and Envelope Filters". The procedure is based on operating
experience and a series of correlations, and first helps the user
to select a filtration gas velocity based on dust type. The
procedure then takes account of a series of operating and design
factors which adjusts the base face velocity to a corrected value.
This is then used to calculate the required filter medium area, and
the software goes on to suggest configurations of filter which can
provide the required duty. Filter geometry data from FiltDes can be
used in with PJFilter for further
analysis.
