PipeDes - Pipeline
PipeDes calculates the total pipeflow pressure change for
non-settling fluids that may be single- or multi-phase. The latter
case includes pseudo-homogeneous mixtures that are stable under
gravitational forces, including some slurries and some
liquid-liquid emulsions, but does not include any gas-liquid flows.
The pressure change comprises frictional losses arising from flow
through straight sections of pipe and through various types of pipe
fitting, together with pressure losses (or gains) arising from
changes in pipe elevation. The assumption is made that the pipe
flows full throughout its length. The overall pressure change may
therefore be a gain or loss. The program is useful to predict
pressure changes for flow in the suction and discharge side of a
pump. Data generated from PipeDes can be input to SPA for pump selection.
