Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator
(formerly Aspen Icarus Project Manager®)
Integrating economic evaluation and project management for total optimization
Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator is a powerful tool for in-plant capital and maintenance projects. By integrating the project economic capabilities of the Aspen Icarus technology with the industry-leading project management capabilities of Primavera Project Planner®, Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator enables companies to optimize the constraints of quality, time, and cost simultaneously. Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator is a core element of AspenTech’s aspenONE® Process Engineering applications.
Features
- Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator focuses on small capital and maintenance projects where an existing process or facility infrastructure is in place and not required as part of the project scope or schedule. Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator provides the following capabilities:
- Primavera Project Planner®: Includes an embedded link to the Primavera Project Planner (P3) to generate a logic-driven CPM construction schedule complete with activities, durations, manpower, and costs within P3. Each activity is linked to predecessors and successors, and is loaded with resources (costs, effort hours, crew mixes).
- User Data Access: Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator can link to any customer data source for unit cost data and supports all data that can be converted to a dbx format.
- Aspen Icarus Technology – Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator is based on the same technology used in both Aspen Process Economic Analyzer and Aspen Capital Cost Estimator.
Aspen Icarus technology is the industry standard for project and process evaluation. Unlike other solutions, the technology does not rely on capacity-factored curves for equipment pricing, nor does it rely on factors to estimate installation quantities and installed cost from bare equipment. It follows a unique approach where equipment, with associated plant bulks, is represented by comprehensive, design-based installation models.
Benefits
Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator has provided benefits across a broad range of industries, including refining, petrochemical, chemical, specialty chemical, pulp and paper, mining & minerals, pharmaceutical. and food and beverage industries. Benefits include:
- Develop detailed designs, estimates, and schedules from minimal project outlines
- Optimize quality, time, and cost for a project
- Export to Aspen Capital Cost Estimator to provide detailed cost adjustments, etc.
